Royal Navy Masters Swimming

The Royal Navy Swimming Club are regular competitors at Masters Events in the UK and around the World.  The team is made up of Serving and ex-Serving personnel from the Royal Navy as well as their family members and members range from those in the lowest age groups to our oldest swimmer at 95.

Millfield.jpgThe Royal Navy also runs it's own Open Masters event each year the next of which will take place 27 Mar 2011 at Millfield School, Somerset.  The 2010 event took place at Millfield School, 28 Mar 10.  The full results can be found here.  Other results are also available for top visiting team, individual age groups and the Armed Forces Cup.  The event is swum short course, has full electronic timing and has the use of a continuous warm up/warm down pool.

In memory of the late Ron Kimber who was instrumental in increasing the Royal Navy involvement in masters swimming an annual award is presented to the top Royal Navy Masters swimmer.  The third of these was awarded to Nic Vaughan for his efforts during 2009.  The 2010 award will be announced at the Royal Navy Open Masters in March 2011.
